charcoal canister compatibility question
I am planning to go to a nearby junkyard and get the charcoal caniter and vsv for my car (I have 440 CEL andgas smell and dealer wants to put a new charcoal canister for $600)
Here are my options from the junkyard (my car is 2000 LE, 4 cyl, J vin).
1. 2000 LE US made (4T vin). It may take more time to pull the parts from the car as it is not an easily accessible place in the junkyard.
2. 99 LE V6, 4T vin. This is ready to pull the parts as it is already on rim stands (elevated)
Since my car is starting with J vin and is 4 cyl, can I use the canister and vsv from either of these cars? (They are charging around 30-40$ for the part).
Please let me know as I am determined to fix this sucker.
