I believe there's two in the bottom easily accessible by pulling the pan and another for overdrive but I didn't have a problem with that one.

Shift solenoid #1 and #2 , and the torque converter lock up solenoid are inside the trans attached to the goveneor valve body. If there is a problem wit hany of them, the OD light on the dash should be flashing with the error codes. I replaced all three of mine whe nmy trans was late shifting into second gear. It did not help.

Yah my OD light flashing on me and giving codes too. P0500 speed sensor and P0720 shaft speed sensor circuit. Which I already fixed them. Originally my problem which i still have now is that I put the car on drive but not moving at all even on reverse. I did a whole lit if research and it came out it might be the sensor.

I'd check the ATF flow by using a clear PVC hose on the ATF cooler line. Of course an ATF main line pressure test is better.

Even if the solenoids fail you still have manual "fail safe" modes. So the car should move as long as you have line pressure and all the clutch packs and brake bands are working.
