2001 camry

okey i looked around for a topic but cudnt find it thats why i am posting a new one
i am sorry if its a repeat. mods may delete it after i get a few suggestion

okey i have a 97 corolla dx
ive been looking for another car and came across this 2001 camry le with 67k miles original
irs a blueish green kind of color not my fav but i dnt mind if its a good car
now one thing i noticed the transmission fluid color was dark yellowish, i tought they are red but it wasnt red for sure
also the check engine light was on and he said tht there was a rust near catalytic converter and the mechanic just used i pipe or something to fill that space. i mean replaced it with a regular pipe.

also the passenger side window motor wasnt powerful enough to lift the window back in one press

umm other than that there was nothing major that i found with the car,
i am just concerned about the color of brake fluid and that thing with catalytic converter.

Worried about brake fluid or transmission fluid? There's usually a flex pipe which I think is just before the cat. Is that what was replaced with regular pipe? I would want to know why it had a check engine light as well. Might be worth having a mechanic check the thing out.

If you're describing that the ATF looks like dirty brake fluid, the transmission fluid is due for a change. Also, it is a 4cly or a V6? either way, a catalytic converter must be re-installed.

ABS was optional on the 4-CLY but standard on the V6.

Carfax won't tell much of a vehicles condition. But if the owner replaced the catalytic converter with a straight pipe, who know what else he done to the car.
