Help with Rear Motor Mounts

Hello I am new to this forum. I am Looking for some guidance and Pics to help replace the rear motor mounts on my 1994 Camry. I have seen lots of information about the front and dog bone mounts but I need some help with the rear mounts. Is there an all encompassing post that covers this? If so what is it?

Thanks

the rear engine mount is incorporated into the carrier bearing housing for the right constant velocity shaft. the rubber is moulded into the metal, the rear mount is bolted to the subframe and requires a bit of work to get out. you will have to remove the right outer and inner cv shafts, right brake and strut assemblies, splash shield, and the mount itself from the subframe. i have recently done this and have pictures if you would like to see them.

Wow, I never had to do anything like that on my I4, maybe the V6 is harder, but not according to Haynes. It's a tricky struggle but doable without removing all of that stuff. As I remember I had to use a very long extension to access the top nut. OP will have to raise the engine to get the bracket to clear the mount bolt.

i was replacing the carrier bearing and it was seized so i had to remove quite a bit of stuff for clearance. my car is a 3VZ-FE with a 5spd so i'm not sure if the mounts are exactly the same. i do know that the 5S-FE does use the intermediate cv bearing as well.

I think we're talking about two different mounts. The rear engine mount is different than the axle carrier bearing.

I think we got a "who's on first" thing going on here.

The OP didn't say what motor he has, and it makes a difference, a big difference.

Here's a shot of what the motor mounts look like on a 2000 1MZ-FE, 6cyl. The back motor mount doesn't look anything like the 4cyl version. The motor mount (12321-A) does house the axle carrier bearing as well as the rubber motor mount (12371-A), and all of that bolts to the frame and the back of the engine. It's a real PITA to get to, and to change out the rear motor mount in a 6cyl.

You have to remove the passenger side wheel, then unbolt the axle, remove the axle from the wheel bearing/brake assembly. Then remove the axle from the carrier bearing, then unbolt the housing from the frame and the rear of the engine. Then press out the old rubber motor mount, and press in the new one, and re-assemble everything.

The engineer that designed that should be serving 5 years to life.
