Are you set on either one of those? Or maybe price out the Monroe QuickStruts from rockauto or Amazon if you need new mounts or other parts. Or try Monroe OESpectrum struts. All carry lifetime warranty.
The disadvantage with KYB is that they don't cover normal wear and tear.

The Tokico is more expensive but I know zero about struts and want to know if they are going to make a difference in the ride.
I have a friend that has a lift so we will replace the struts ourselves.
Tokicos are sportier and a bit firmer than KYBs which are similar to OEM factory. Actually, they are OEM-similar.
Tokicos are only worth if you're lowering, but if you're not and still want some sort of firm drive and handling, Tokicos are good to go. Plus, if you're planning on lowering in the future, you don't need to worry about replacing shocks, unless you go for coilovers.
I have used KYB struts in the last 3 cars that I changed struts (1988 Camry, 1992 Maxima and 2000 Camry). They are good struts. Very high quality and never had any issues. They are good stock replacements.
Be sure to change the other parts like the strut mounts and other miscellaneous rubber suspension parts.

I'm not into lowering or changing the OEM feel of the suspension, I'm just looking for good struts, Tokico was only a consideration because of other people mentioning it here in the forums.
I know that I need to change at least one of the boots but can I get away with using the same mounts... I know if they are damaged they should be changed but if they look good is there any harm in using them ?
There were some issues with the strut mounts for the Gen4, so there are revised replacements for those, but if you don't really have any problems, then you can reuse them. As for the dust boot, definitely replace it if it's torn because you don't want any dirt or grime to get on the strut. Since you're not lowering, go with the KYB struts, since they will give you the comfort like that of the XLE trim.
