Power Windows '96

All power windows stopped working on 96 camry wagon so I found the 20 amp fuse under the dash and replaced it(PITA). The old fuse still had continuity and the 3 power locks that work still worked (this fuse also controls the locks), but no window joy, so I replaced the fuse. Windows worked fine as did locks, so I put everything back. Later that day the windows quit working again and 3 locks continued to work. I would like opinions on how to proceed before I start tearing into door panels, etc.

Thanks D

You probably have a shorted wire that keeps blowing the fuse. Check the wiring between the Drivers door first. Thats where all the doors wiring first runs to. If the wires are not split open (copper exposed) Check the next door, .. Continue until you find the short.

Turns out it was the wires coming from the door. I removed the door panel, disconnected the wires from the drivers kick panel and pulled the harness out the door speaker hole. Of the 16 wires 3 were broken completely and 10 had broken insulation which exposed the copper. After a couple hours of splicing etc. everything worked in the door, including the power lock that hadn't been working either.
