4th Generation 99 V6 manual swap

Hi all, I'd like to swap the automatic out in the 99 and put a manual in, I've already worked out the mechanical parts that are needed:

-transmission
-axles
-flywheel/clutch
-pedal assemblies
-center console from manual car

now I'm not sure on the electrical part, do I need the ecu from the manual car? what else would I need?

Because ur model could come factory with a manual ecu then it would be beneficial to install one with your swap. It will make the swap a little easier and easier to work on when things go wrong.

I would agree. I see lots of people use the auto ECU's and just fool it with resistors, but they end up having problems later.

Not only will it be done correctly, you will also not have to worry about chasing wiring problems/diagrams to get the car to run.

I havn't take a closer look, but I assume there's a separate ecu to control the transmission, does each module need coded to others in order to work? I've founded some Solara V6 manual and I'm thinking just to buy the whole car and part out what I don't need.

That would be your best bet, having a parts car.
