Help Program Trunk Release for RS3000 Gen 4 Camry

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and and really hoping someone can help me with my problem.

I have a 99 Camry that has an RS3000 VIP alarm system that uses the two-button gray remote. When I got the car, both remotes worked great; top button lock/unlock and bottom buttom released the trunk.

I had to get new remotes, was able to reprogram the lock/unlock throught ecu but can't find any way to program the trunk release. I've called 5 dealerships and they all say either 1, they don't know or 2, bring it in for $100+ and we'll look at it.

I know the car is wired with a solenoid to release the trunk because it's work great for a year! I just to know how to reprogram these new remotes. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks!

4th Generation

Thanks for the post but that thread did not answer the question. My system is RS3000 for Gen 4 (99 Camry). The lock/unlock works fine (I have that part completed). There doesn't seem to be any info anywhere about a remote trunk release. Unless I'm reading it wrong, the posted info for remote release is for another system. Mine is (FCC ID BAB237131-022)

Any other ideas would be appreciated!

To the best of my knowledge the rs3000 was a dealer install option, and the trunk solenoid is not stock. Follow the solenoid to see where it runs to, theres probably some sort of receiver.

Yes, RS3000 was dealer install option and I am thinking trunk release was secondary. Do you know where the solenoid would be so I can trace it? I wasn't sure if it would be in the trunk lid or the car body. My guess is if I find it, it'll lead to to a receiver that will have another programmable button.

What do you think?

It should be in lower part of the body, not in the trunk. It should be clearly visible when you look. Just peel back the carpeting and remove the plastic trim to find it.
