Making my 2000 V6 stick shift Camry higher from back

I have two issues on my 2000 Camry.

It sags down fast when I put a little load in its trunk. Do I need new shocks?

I want to put stiffer shocks in the back and make it an inch higher from the back.

Are shocks easy to change in the back ?

How do I accomplish this?
I haven't been able to google anything in the last 15 minutes or so.

Any help would be amazing.. !! Thanks.

shocks and struts only absorb bumps while driving and dont affect ride height - springs do. airbags are the best for adjusting loaded ride height, but ive only seen them offered for pickup trucks and not passenger cars. there are 1" spacer blocks that can be purchased (ive seen this done numerous times on jeeps) that go on under the spring in a strut assembly, but dont know how that will effect the driveability on a camry. this would also leave the back end of the car higher when the trunk is empty.

I will look into the 1 inch spacer blocks. Are you saying that people don't life cars at all ?
I want the car one inch higher from the back when empty because it is too low from the back I think.

For the going down piece, I think I need stiffer and newer shocks.

Thanks !

Is it easy to change rear shocks on the 00 Camry ?

Like ghettosled said you need springs not struts. You have struts not shocks anyways.

there is an air suspension for the camry. its really expensive and you shouldn't do it.

your trunk sags because of the springs. maybe new replacement springs will help.

and to answer your question. yeah. no one really lifts the camry. whats your reason for lifting it ? it seems that you want to lift the bank because "you think its too low". maybe you can replace the rear two struts and see if it helps. if "you" still "think that its too low" after replacing the rear shocks, then i dunno what to tell you because thats the way the car was designed.

if you really want to lift it, you can. but you shouldn't just because you think the car isn't normal because you think its too low.

I recently fit a set of rims and tires to my car that were a bit to wide for the rear fender wells. On big bumps the car would scrub the outside of the tires on the fenders. As a temporary, cheap fix, while looking for a slighly narrower tire, I bought rubber spring spacers, and placed them in between the coils on the rear suspension. They did not act to raise the cars ride height in the back so much, as to temporarly prevent them from compressing to lower ride heights in the back. They also did not seem to affect handling or ride in any significant manner.

A cheap, quick, short term fix, but probably not something you would want to do in the long run.
