What is the rim width of a stock 14" alloy?

My car has 14" rims, I'm looking at a winter set up and want to go with new aftermarket 16 x 6.5" alloys for a little sportier look and winter tires. The stock tire size is 195/70-14, and one of the optional recommended is 205/65-15. I would like to keep the tire width as narrow and close to the 195/70-14 width as possible to take as much advantage of the winter tires combined with the narrow tread.

I'm looking at getting 195/65-15 tires on a 15 x 6.5 (or 7)" rim. Using the winter tire I have on my gen 2, the Firestone Winterforce. In the 195/65-15 the tire tread with is listed the same as the 195/70-14. They also recommend a rim width of 5.5 - 7". I don't want too much of a stretched tire look. The other option is a 205/55-16 (tread width is 0.5" wider) and most of the 16" rims are going to be 7" to 7.5" wide. This will be wider and has some affect on how well they will go through deep snow, they will tend to plow more. Any thoughts on this?

Also any recommendations for great winter tires from Tire Rack for this car. I like the Winterforce and woundn't hesitate to purchas another set. I do see some of the winter tires are made for performance and high speed driving. I don't know that i need this 60% of the time the car will be on the highway at 70 mph, and 40% in the city at 25 - 35 mph.

They should be 14x6.

Bridgestone Blizzaks have some good reviews.
