I would suggest bringing the block to a machine block. Also include the Crankshaft.

The Machine shop will get you the correct bearings.

Make sure to at least Hone the cylinders out before Re-ringing and installing the pistons.

The machine shop will dip, and magnaflux the block and check it for cracks.

MR. Perkins, I was thinking about ordering a rebuild kit from the web that includes all gaskets and boring 20 over rather than hone. The crank main and rod bearings would remain stock but have 20 over pistons and rings. Does this sound like a good idea to you? And is there a company you would recomend purchasing this combo from? I have basic automotive knowledge but not an expert by no means. Just getting the most "GOOD" information i can before I dive into thes project. Thanks Mike
