It could a number of things...

1. damaged valve
2. bad bearing in one of the pulleys
3. loose bolts somewhere
4. damaged fan or belt

If you cant find it soon you really should have someone that knows how to work on a Toyota take a look at it ASAP.

clicking sound which inreases in frequency with engine RPM is never good ... something is worn out or loose in the engine (head probably if this is where the noise is coming from)...

it could just be that valves are out of adjustment and ticking now ... but it could be a number of other things too and they are not too good things to happen, so start with maintenance (valve clearances may need to be re-adjusted after 120k miles byswapping the shims).

my haynes manual describes it, it's not hard to measure clearances if you have time. replacing them is another story.
