End of the line for my Gen 3.5 - She'll be dearly missed
11/22/2011 will be a sad dark day for me & my Camry. I was involved in a pretty bad wreck & well, I pretty much killed such a well built and reliable machine. I'm pretty bummed out because I loved my Camry like no other
I'm 100 percent positive my insurance will declare her a total loss, but as I was inspecting the damage, I noticed there is very minimal mechanical damage (suspension, powertrain, drivetrain). Airbags did NOT deploy. Most of it is cosmetic. I'm thinking of buying her back and parting it out if any of you guys need anything. Let me know if any of you are interested in any items. I'll base my decision on the community's feedback.

Left Hand Side Depos are damaged. From the picture on my original post, the right assembly still looks ok, as well as the amber delete corner light. Also, the PIAA Fog lamp housings are damaged.

Ouch! Yeah, she's gone, bro. If you're ok, then that's all that really matters. There will be another. Maybe a better one is in your future.
Walnut isn't too far from where I am. There might be a couple of items I'd be interested in if you decide to buy back, and part out. Was it an I4 or V6?

Yep, thankfully I'm ok. Everything did what it was supposed to do. I'm still going to stay in the Toyota Scene, but I have my sights on going the Lexus SC400 route. Always had a soft spot for that car.
Let me know what you're interested in. It's an LE with a 2.2L 5S-FE. Transmission was replaced in 2008 with a A140E off a 2001 Toyota Camry. Interior is still in great condition. Just let me know what you need.

yeah, sorry to say that that car is definitely totaled. There is definitely frame damage, and even if not, due to the age of the car, if the rad support needs to be replaced, the job will cost more than the car is wroth (unless you do it yourself)
most important thing is that you're all right though

.
My '93 was totaled when a bus hit me in May.
They said there was ''structural damage", but there wasn't any.
I have some pictures if you want them, anyway, they called me and I was ready for them to LOW BALL ME with their compensation.
This car had 110K miles on it.
They offered me $4025.00 and I was pleased with that... I had comps. ready to show him in case he tried to low ball me.
It was already at my body shop and being worked on as he told me he could fix it for $2700.00. That was with a $2000.00 discount because he loves my 95 yr. old mom who's car he also works on. Also, if you sell it, no one will care if it says salvage on the title.
ALSO, you have this going for you ... I saw my body guy yesterday and he told me these Camry's have appreciated $2000.00 because of the economic situation .
I don't know what your mileage is or how it looks inside but your car is worth money... The KBB is so off.
Look locally for a car like yours and you will see, if any, that they are not that great.
People just aren't selling GOOD Camry's these days.
Play hardball with him if you feel his offer is unfair... just do some research.

The thought was in my mind to go ahead and fix it myself. My friend is still bugging me to buy it back and fix it but at this point, it's just so much work that I'd rather start fresh and buy something I can just mod from the start. I know at some point I'll buy another Gen3/3.5 camry. It's builds like yours with your 1MZ that give me the desire to mod a camry. Im definitely a huge fan of your car.

They're aftermarket 15 inch wheels on Bridgestone Potenza G19 Grid tires. Still in good condition.

My situation is quite complicated and I'm terrified at what they're gonna offer me. At 355,000 miles, there's nothing I can compare it to. Although I still see 200k camrys for sale at 3500 bucks, I know my car is still worth a good chuck of change. I'd be happy with 4,000 to say the least. It'll get me the car I want. But I just hope and pray their offer isnt below 3k. I'm not in the mood to wage war with my insurance company. Glad to hear they gave you a fair deal tho, that gives me a glimpse of hope lol

doesn' t look like you hit a tree..maybe a metal pole.. glad you're ok though. the Camry is a well built and super safe car. hands down one of the best cars you can buy for the money and feel safe in. even today its looks aren't dated. i think if you went with an SC400 you would be more than happy.
