when does lower rad hose get HOT?

01 4 cylin Camry put in new stat and bled system twice by running to hot twice with rad cap off. Did see some bubbles. Never did feel lower hose get hot, so when does it warm up?

You need to allow the thermostat to open up once it reaches temperature. Then you'll feel the flow change temperature. Make sure your thermostat isn't stuck in the closed position.

In cooler climate it can take a long while. But if the upper hose is getting warm at the radiator end then the coolant is probably flowing fine (not a stuck thermostat).

However, a cheap aftermarket thermostat without a jiggle valve can cause air to be trapped and create some problems too. IMO I'd use only OEM or a Stant OE-Style stat with a jiggle valve.
