Check Engine (EGR code) cycles on and off every 700 miles

Hey all,

2001 Camry 4cyl. 140,000 miles. California emissions car, made in Japan.

A weird thing keeps happening. My EGR code keeps coming on for 700-800 miles then goes off for about the same amount of time.

I am a courier and drive ~320miles per day. So this happens roughly every couple of days.

Changed EGR valve.

Any ideas?

It may be as simple as cleaning the throttle body ports, or change out the VSV or clean the pipes.

What are the codes?

I have checked the codes before but I have forgotten the numbers.
The light will come on again in a couple of days so I'll have numbers then. .

I just can't figure out why it keeps Cycling. Even with cleaning everything. If it is from carbon build up, wouldn't the light continually stay on?
