3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.

All you have told us is it's a Gen 3. How about starting with the obvious... year of car and a picture of the car.
Being that the speedometer isn't working it's hard to judge how many miles is on the car. Mileage is an important factor in determining the value of older cars such as mine or yours.
KBB is really only one way to appraise the car.
Right now, the way the economy is and gas prices high, the value of a good gen 3 Toyota has gone up appreciably.
I don't think KBB takes that into account.
My car is pretty much is excellent shape both cosmetically and mechanically. ( knock on wood).
True, I got hit by a bus in May and they totaled the car out and I bought it back as a salvage, fixed it and had money left over. I just had to repair the right side and paint it.
Because of that, KBB says the condition of my car is POOR.
If I change it to clean title it becomes VERY GOOD.
In reality it's an outstanding, dependable vehicle and KBB only sees black and white.
No, KBB sees that your car had been "totaled out" from an accident, something a new buyer would be interested in and probably not willing to pay top dollar for. I hope if you sell it you'll disclose the accident and insurance totaled.
But, yes KBB or any of the other sites only see the data on many vehicles not YOUR vehicle, so they are only a guide, that by the way, many buyers use to make an offer. But everyone wants a deal and will probably offer less.
I still don't know how KBB assesses "private party sales" as we all know the values are "fudged" so that less sales taxes are paid by the buyer, making the sale easier.

In California it says ''Salvage" right on your title.
We have to know more about the car, before offering advice on keep or sell. Is it a 4 or V-6? (V-6= more $$) Does it have 20 owners and no service record, or 2 and a long service record? An imaculate XLE is a buyers dream (not to far from a new Camry or comparable car in similar trim today, in terms of driving experience, and the new car will be worth at least 30K). In todays economy, such a car, or even a less optioned model in good (appearance) shape, but in need of basic fix-up stuff, still can represent value over book to many buyers. Self repair is a strong point on this car, with a little knowledge and help you can fix alot of big stuff. On many newer cars this is much harder.
