i have a 1999 2.2 Auto. Are there any differential gear sets besides stock available for the Auto trans? I would really like to get the RPMs down a bit at highway speeds.

The differential in this car is built into the trans. Its not do able without a ridiculous amount of work.

The 4cyl is only at 2-2500 rpm at highway speeds. If your going way over that just drive slower. You also will render the car even more gutless is you switch gear ratio.

True, the car will be slower if you use a longer (numerically lower) final drive, but your gas mileage should increase as well - is this your intent?

The V6 Solara has an automatic tranmission that should bolt up to your 4-cyl setup. I can't remember which year it is, but one model has a really low final drive ratio that will work on any Gen3 or Gen4 Camry with some modifications. You'd really be better off swapping the whole transmission rather than taking apart all the gear assemblies IMO. V6 Lexus vehicles should work too

Not sure either if you need to swap trans modules from one to the other...but in theory you CAN do it
