True, the car will be slower if you use a longer (numerically lower) final drive, but your gas mileage should increase as well - is this your intent?
The V6 Solara has an automatic tranmission that should bolt up to your 4-cyl setup. I can't remember which year it is, but one model has a really low final drive ratio that will work on any Gen3 or Gen4 Camry with some modifications. You'd really be better off swapping the whole transmission rather than taking apart all the gear assemblies IMO. V6 Lexus vehicles should work too
