Installing an MSD Ignition Controller on a Camry?

Wondering if anyone has any knowledge regarding compatibility/installation of the MSD Digital 6AL Ignition Control (Part No. 6425) with the 1MZ Camry/Solara platform?

http://www.msdignition.com/Products/...n-Control.aspx

I got the MSD unit (#6425) for a really good deal and I'm hoping I can install it this summer when I do my engine and turbo install, but I've heard that its not compatible.

I've been reading the instruction manual and it seems that on Toyotas for my tachometer to work properly I may need an adapter unit. But that's all I found regarding a possible incompatibility.

Thanks,
Josh

It doesn't work. Or rather, not in any reasonable way. I had a long discussion with Tony about this very thing about 6 years ago and the conclusion was that other then the 94 1mz with its single year ignition setup could you run the booster...2 of them. IIRC it was because issues with the wasted spark and the evolution to ICP on the 96+ motors. To get it to work youd have to run a complicated wiring system and he didnt feel it would be worth the money if you tried it on anything but a 94 motor. And even then it wasn't a great idea. Ill try to find the conversation we had about it.

Found it, Tony comes to school in post #10
