Speedometer Cluster Replacement

I have a 99 CE with out the "P R N D L" on the cluster. I can get a cluster for nothing and do the swap. I am wondering about a couple of issues and am hoping it has been done before.

If I swap the speedometer, where is the odometer info stored? My camry has 120k miles on it and I dont want to replace it with one that has 220k! Is the info in the pcm or in the cluster.

Will the "PRNDL" work with the CE wiring harness or will some wiring modifications have to be done?

Thanks for any help

Info is in the cluster, so plugging one off a 220k camry into your 120k camry, it'll say 220k on the odometer. You can always send them out to get re-flashed...but that's a lot of money. I'd call a dealership and ask what they do about it
