Toyota E-series gear interchangeability

Hi, all.

Imagine taking a Cressida 3.0 lt 24valve or a Supra, bolting on a Camry gearbox and adding a front diff to yield an AWD. I have something like this in mind.

I have also looked at some gearboxes, and identified the E51 from '88-'89 MR2 as the best cadidate 'box. But I would like the lowest 1st gear ratio and the tallest 5th - the E53's 1st (3.538:1 vs. 3.23:1) and E153's 5th (0.731:1 vs. 0.82:1). I could also use the E58 from a Levin/Trueno, as its bell housing and ratios are similar to the E51. E52 has exactly the same gear ratios as E51, albeit a different bell housing, but does that guarantee they are mechanically identical?

I know that E58 is a narrow-gear tranny, while E51 is a wide-gear tranny. Are any gear sets of these four 'boxes interchangeable without mods?

TIA
