heat seater 3rd gen / air from cooling system

Hi All,

I'm slowly getting my Camry back into form, it's a 12/95 made EU trim 5S-FE manual. What are not working still is the A/C and the seat heater. Well since it's winter time right now I don't care about the A/C now. But I do care about the seat heater , my girlfriend too!!
Well the check lights are really nice, show that it's turned on, even in LOW or HIGH state. Fuse is checked and found OK. But it doesn't heat. It's a leather trim, so it's a bit so-so, in the very least . I'm checking the service manual, but I can't find it in the Body Electrical section. Am I still missing something in there? Do you have any ideas?

Another thing is the possibility of remaining air in the cooling system? How to check it? Will do a thermostat replacement soon, since I'm just getting my STANT OE TYPE from Rockauto by a friend coming over from NC to here in Hungary. I really hope it will rock!!! I replaced the coolant this fall, and found no air in the upper pipe to the radiator. I haven't used the bolt to drain the coolant on the back of the block, just drained from the radiator, got out the thermostat and gave it a large flush from the ECT sensor hole, after getting off the radiator pipes. I've read on the site this could be a problem behind not so good heater performance my curiousity says may be there's some air in the pipes, I don't know. How to work it out from there?

Thanks for any help!

Steve

If you can find the seat plug connection I'd separate it and use a test light to make sure power to seat plug. Then use an OHM meter and check continuity of the seat heater from the plug.

Only way to get it out is remove the rad cap (safely) when the engine is running and thermostat is open.
