So its idle RPM is bouncing between 750 & 900 RPM?... surging up and down? No, that's not typically caused by a timing belt. Most of the time, it's because the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve needs to be cleaned.
Does it have a V6 or 4 cylinder engine? If it's the 4 cyl, here's one DIY thread showing how to remove/clean it. And here's another.
