when do transmission problems start

Always changed my AT fluid every 1-2years, but at 150K, starting to have some problems- sluggishness, hesitation, occasional noise. Is this normal for this mileage? Some have 400K still running strong. Only once or twice I drained fluid and there were metal shavings. Maybe a good time to sell the car? I don't want to spend additional money. I did the jiffy lube transmission flush once which people dont recommend at 60k.

metal shavings that doesn't sound good. Your transmission might have broken gear which causing other gear to scrap. I think that might be the problem. Depends how drive the car
