Distributer Seal Replacement

I need to change the distributer o-ring (seal) on my 1995 Camry 2.2L. I have never done this before so was wondering if anyone has seen a DIY or good descriptive post for this project? I am leaking a little oil from where the distributer meets the head.

I can't find a DIY thread for it, but it's pretty straightforward.

1) remove plug wires or remove distributor cap with wires intact.
2) remove bolts at base of distributor (I think there's two, maybe three)
3) remove distributor & replace o-ring
4) reinstall disty
5) set ignition timing

Some would tell you that before removing it, to mark the distributor's angular position so you can get it back into the same position when it's reinstalled, and not have to check/set ignition timing. I dunno if that's possible to do accurately enough, if you care that it's off a couple of degrees.

Completed the distributor o-ring replacement today. I was delayed due to breaking one of the 5mm bolts that hold the distributor cap on. This was a new Echlin cap installed in July. Was not real sure why the bolt broke trying to remove it. Removed the broken bolt with an EZ-out then ran a 5mm tap thru the hole. Replaced all three 5mm bolts with stainless steel bolts and lock washers. The threaded holes and bolts were lightly coated with never seize to prevent any future bolt breaking.

The o-ring was one I picked up from the local Toyota dealer. It was part # 90099-14127. From what I understand, there were two o-ring part numbers listed and the VIN determined which o-ring was correct. I looked at both o-rings and they were the same diameter and cross-sectional diameter. One was black and one was maroon. I suspect the o-ring material was changed to improve the life of the o-ring? I used the maroon o-ring. The cost was $3.32 (yes, it was pricey).

The o-ring was lubricated with Parker Super-O-Lube and installed to the distributor. The bore in the head was also lubricated. The distributor installed fairly easy and indexed back to my pre-removal marks. The timing checked 8 degrees BTDC. Plan to tweek the timing to 10 degrees BTDC.
