99 5SFE, have been using my UG for a while now. Very happy.
I just mount it to the window in the middle, above the center console. I've been thinking about a better location for it, and where to hide the wire, but haven't had the time for that yet.
Not sure what your question is about calibration.

I'd like to mount it somewhere on the dash but without ruining the material.
My question on the distance calibration is the UG manual states I have find a straight road with mile markers....well we have a highway nearby that has mile markers but for me to stop, line up my front wheel and drive a few miles to the next marker would get me killed(people go 80+ m.p.h.) and it's not very straight either...so how do I properly perform this procedure so I can gain an accurate reading for my fuel economy???
Thanks again!

You can calibrate this thing? I had no idea UG had such function. Just looked it up in the manual.
I suppose the least I can do is calibrate fuel. As for distance, I think I'll use my GPS for the measurement - just turn on the cruise control and train it on 65 mph, and stick it out for a mile or two. Shouldn't be too difficult.
I would but the maunal says not to use your odometer as it can be off, that's why they say to use mile markers.

LSS regarding calibration, you could make the effort to get up at 3AM and do the calibration on the nearby hwy. There will be less traffic then and possibly do your calibration safely.
Mounting can be done with a bracket as explained in one of your previous queries here. The fence bracked slipped between the guage cluster bezel and the dash, it rested on the steering column. The bracket is for fencing and available at the hardware store. If you do a search I'm certain you will come up with it.
On my 2000 Camry I mounted the mount close to the bottom left corner of the windshield. The cord runs down the left side of the dash to the OBDII connector. Works like a charm. Unclips from the holder easily. On my winter car, the Camry has been put away for the winter to avoid salt contact.
Hope this helps.

Even at that time, it is still crazy on that highway with big semis and crazy drivers from the city.
Could you possibly post a photo of this bracket and instruction on how to build it? Send me a PM instead if you prefer.
Thanks!

I would, but my city has a high auto theft rate and I'd rather not test fate. I don't need some thug breaking into my car thinking that mounting bracket connects to a GPS.
By the way, what part of Texas do you live?
Thanks!

Never knew you had to calibrate this thing though, oops.
