Doesn't the twin electrode denso do some fancy double fire?

The spark only jumps to/from one or the other ground electrode at a given time.
The old twin-ground design helps extend life in waste spark systems. But the Iridium-IX can handle the 60K interval without problems, and it's one of the plugs in the NGK application catalog.
Were you're old plugs misfiring at low and mid range?
I don't think so. It does ping at low speed going up hill but that's due to TPS that I replaced yesterday.
Btw, this is a single ground. I don't know why Denso labeled it as twin tip. It has small tip at the end of ground electrode to make spark surface wider.
I'm not promote the product. Just trying to find any known negative effect on the long term usage.
I'm not promoting NGK or anything, but in general NGK plugs look much better than Densos after many years. NGK (and I'm sure Denso) recommends not to gap the iridiums and I assume all thin-center electrode plugs because it might weaken or break them by accident. Carefully it's probably no problem.
Unless the engine has problems the iridium plugs should come out cleaner say after 60K miles.
Just curious why are you recommending the NGK Iridium IX over the Laser Iridiums? Initially I thought the IX are the ones with platinum chip on the side electrode. I just realized the OEM plugs on the newer Toyotas are the Laser Iridiums and those are the ones that have iridium center and platinum side electrode. Wouldn't the platinum chip be advantageous on a waste spark system?

For a while NGK listed the Laser Iridium (iridium plugs with a platinum ground pad, good for 120K miles on Gen5+), but for some reason they removed it for the waste spark models. Not sure why.
So it's NGK's recommendation (or the revocation of) in using the Laser Iridium in waste spark systems.
That's interesting, even Denso doesn't seem to recommend their iridium center and platinum side plugs, Denso SK20R11, for the waste spark 5SFE. Those plugs are recommended for the 92-6 and 2002-9 Camry only.
I wonder if the platinum ground pad can come loose because of the reverse sparking direction and get lodged between the piston and cylinder and make big scratch marks.
