I need new struts, especially the rear. Unfortunately, the struts for the 95-96 MCV10's are expensive as hell
So I'm considering quick struts for the 96 4-cyl Camry instead. I heard that the 5S-FE is only about 10 lb lighter than the 1MZ so that shouldn't really be a problem.
These struts on eBay are $170 for both of the rear struts.

It says they fit 92-94 and 97-01, but why not 95-96?
I know that some years have sealed struts and some are non-sealed. Can you replace one type with the other?
I found a front pair for $200 that fits the 4-cyl 1996 Camry.

Also, the XV20 struts are much cheaper, have more brands available, including KYB.
How much interchangeability is there between the 3rd and 4th gen Camry in terns of suspension?
