p0340 timing issue unresolved

Hey to all the toyota experts out there. I have a 2000 toyota camry 2.2 4cylnder with the code p0340. I have done plenty of research and have tried many different senerios but have only been frustrated with the poor results. Let me begin where I started, I had to change my motor due to the old one slingging a rod into my ac compressor. I also replaced the transmission because the pump was damaged from engine removal. After both were replaced the car seemed to drive ok except for not having horsepower like original motor and check engine light for p0340. So I began to research an started with the camshafts sensor itsself. Didn't fix, also checked wiring, good as far as I could tell. Changed crankshafts sensor, redid timing changed tension pulley, idler pulley, timing belt sparkplugs and wires. Had to change valve cover gasket an plug tube seals because of oil in #1 sparkplug tube. I have tried numerous times lining up timing and have set the cam back a sprocket as well as ahead. Neither clear code. I have an actron auto scanner to save me trips to advanced auto. Also I have read starter may be bad but car starts fine. Has compression between 220 an 240. Not sure if I am leaving any important info out but any help would be gladly appreciated in advance. Thought this was Americas number one car but with my luck so far maybe junkyards number one...
