3rd Generation What does a Blinking OD light mean?

As of late about once every month my "OD" transmission light on the dash will go into a blinking mode. It goes back to normal and does not blink for another month or so usually after I turn off the car. I am not experiencing any trans problems at all. The trans has been serviced on a regular basis & the the fluid is clean & red with no burnt smell. The car is a 1993 LE V6 with 147K miles.........I looked into the owners manual & cannot find anything related to this occasional issue?......

I believe that the flashing OD light indicates a problem with one of the shift solenoids in the trans.

AFAIK, blinking OD light is the equivalent of check engine light for transmission.

Instead of guessing, why don't you stop by an auto parts store and borrow their OBDII scanner, if you don't have one of your own. It'll be much easier to figure out from there.

Maybe the OP is afraid if it is a tranny problem he/she may not have the money to get it fixed.
