Try cleaning the door switches. Here's a thread showing how to do it on a 2000 model, which is very similar. I didn't take mine apart like he did; just hosed them down with WD40 until it was running down my arm.
Edit: The return path is thru the screw, so make sure it's good and clean too (not rusty).
