Cleaning EGR valuve in situe worked to stop the CEL

Hi there are some other threads about this, but they discuss the difficulties of removing the EGR valve for cleaning, and recommend lifting the car and going from underneath to get the difficult bolt. For example, here and here.

I also watched a youtube on how to do this, and it shows the clog where the egr valve and the air intake meet. (seconds 0:50 to 1:50)

Well that bottom pipe has some flexibility. I took off the top two bolts right on the EGR valve, and then I aimed my shop vac, with a funnel fashioned to focus the vacuum. I poked out the carbon gunk, and the shop vac seemed to ingest them. I also used a carb cleaner, and a pipe cleaner with an an adapted bend.

This cleared my CEL light
