Ride height

Did a search - nothing. So My question is why ride height so high after changing stut/springs 4 corners? History '99 LE 4 cyl. 14' wheels 113xxx mi. wheels, tires, stuts/springs shot. put on 16X7 wheels and Monroe quick stuts at same time. Car sitting very high! Monroes defective, replaced with Gabriel ultra's. Struts now fine but ride hight is still very high, so much so I think it's effecting handling. Alignment done and is good.

Gotta bring it down, Lowering spring?
or what

Thanks,

Bill

Did you compare the old springs to the new springs? Are you sure you have the right parts on there? Maybe yer used to the old springs that now it's at the right height it seems high to you?

Measure the clearance from the bottom frame to the ground and post it.

The old set up is gone had no reason to think there would be a problem.
Both new sets result in same height, It's way high. The inside rear trailing arm piviot is 11" from ground and the lowest point on the driver side K member (lowest part of the frame ) is 6": from ground. The front fender well is 26.5" and the rear is 27.5" up. Wish I could post pic's.

If I go with Eibach's etc. I will have bump stop problems with the stock length struts!

its probably because the car was that high when you first bought it and started sagging along the years and you forgot how it sat when you first bought the car. now that you've replaced the struts, the car sits normal again and you think that its too high.

lowering springs will lower it.

i Found a 3CM lowered set of Spring look great

The car will raise a bit when you put mag wheels on...

Because there is less give so to speak... with the extra bit of alloy and less rubber at a higher pressure
My Camry with the 3cm lowered springs

You're in the range. Mine sits are 27.5" from ground to the top of the fender lip and 26.5 on the rear. Looks heavy and low on the back. I replaced the front with Monroe's Quick Struts and it raised the front but I though the new springs haven't settle yet. I swap the old springs in the front and it was the same thing height.

If you go with Eibach's, you shouldn't have problem with the bump stops. The spring should have the same uncompressed height as the OEM but sit lower than stock due to a different spring rate.

^My TRD lowering springs were never the same height of the stock springs. They were physically shorter. And I compared them on the bench when I did the job way back when. Just saying.
