Hi All,

I have toyota camry and was out of town for last 8 months and left the car at my friends place requested him to just start the car now and then just that battery wont drain down completely, now after 8 months i tried to jump start the car but the alarm sounds won't stop, I took it to car mechanic and he asked me to contact toyota dealer as mentioned that car alarm needs to reprogrammed.

I am using non remote key which i got from toyota dealer using my VIN, I lost my remote key while back.

I am guessing your Camry came with the dealer installed alarm. Try this:

1. Insert the key in the ignition.

2. Turn the key quickly from the "Run" position to the "Off" position five times.

3. Turn the key to the "Start" position and start the car. This will disable the alarm and allow you to start the car again.

A locksmith told me that some Toyota models need to be programmed when a new key is cut and that very few locksmiths spend the money on the programmer that is required. My local dealer does not carry one, they call the same locksmith

And like the previous poster said, the first thing I did was pull the horn relay.

And then I found the little manual.

So first make sure the button is OUT.

Then lock and close the door.

Hook up the battery.

Unlock door with key.

Put key in ignition and turn to "ON"

Then push in button on dash.

This is Valet mode or something like that.

Should be good to go, then put the horn relay back in.
Taken From SecuriKey disable without remote when changing battery

Did you flip the switch to the left of the brake pedal against the side? that was my problem. Is it a constant horn going off? or... is it more like one horn burst every second or so. If you cross your wires from hot to ground your horn will constantly go off as well.
