Camry hasn't started since June 2011 . .

I made a brief post about my car being gone some of you might have seen it. The police had confiscated my baby on June 25 last year and I havent seen the car since. I have over 2 grand worth of audio installed in the car and I higly doubt im going to see any of it when I go to pick up the car early tomorrow morning. . .

I've been fighting this bulls**t system and I've finally got through and can get my baby tomorrow. Car was took for a reason that had nothing to do with it. This is a car I bascailly washed and cleaned everyday so I dont know what to expect really.

Is there anything I should do or know before starting the car? Will it run fine? Anyone think the tires are going to be flat ?

tires could be flat and battery could drained, fuel could be a strange thing.

if the battery is good and it starts (may take some cranking at first) and nothing snaps or blows then I think you are ok for now. get it refilled with fresh fuel and check tire inflation asap though. use some fuel system cleaners soon, maybe clean the Throttle Body, replace all filters and flush all fluids soon.

good luck man, system can be a pain sometimes, don't know why they took it away from you and it's not my business, but I feel your grief. hopefully car will be running fine!

Man thanks for the fast response.

All the advice sounds great and Im going to try them all. But I was once told that those so called cleaners that clean your full system and what not are actually not good for your car ?

don't use anything drastic (like sea foam or BG44K), not yet at least hehe

use a 20oz bottle of Chevron Techron concentrate, it's a mild cleaner, same one as premium gas stations mix (diluted) with their fuels.

I just hope your battery has the juice to fire up and spark plugs didn't get rusty. maybe take jumper cables with you ... or maybe fresh battery pack to get it done right no matter what

I would also take 1-2 quarts of motor oil with me, just in case there was a slow leak over time nad it's low on oil now, just that before cranking her.

The gas in the tank is gonna be pretty old. Be prepared to jump/replace the battery. Bring some Sta-bil to add to the gas tank. You might need to bring an air compressor depending on how good the tires held up. Hopefully yer tires didn't develop any flat spots from sitting too long.

Not sure if the impound lot has any rules (probably) about working on yer car while it's in their lot. You might need to call fer a tow truck.

Damn what a bummer.Just stick to what everyone has said so far. Bring Some Oil, Booster Pack/Jumper Cables in case the battery is dead, maybe a little portable air compressor, and just be ready for anything, ANYTHING. This makes me consider buying a nice Viper alarm system and hope that will keep car thiefs at bay. I'm from the NYC Area and my father has had his vehicles stolen multiple times most of the time he will just give up because the system is really tough and he doesn't have the time for it, at least thats what he says.

lol I wouldnt use sea foam or BG44k because I dont even kno what those are LOL

Do I pour the 20oz bottle of Chevron Techron concentrate into the gas tank correct ?

This is what I have setup for tomorrow. A plug in booster pack thats been charging for like 4 days now lol and a Air Compressor (yellow) which requires a outlet to use it.

Is this enough guys ?

I have a viper system the 5701 and its about 500 bucks. Very good system my friend but I doubt when the cops took my car they locked the car... dont think they cared to take the time to lock it up . . . .

Im from the NYC area too manhattan to be exact. It took me a little more then half a year to get my car back . . . F**k the system

Sta-Bil short for Fuel Stabilizer can be picked up from your local AutoZone for cheap and it typically is sold with like 2 Bottles of The actual stabilizer and a Bottle of some other fuel additive its basically just a fuel additive that is supposed to clean what its cleaning who knows, and is supposed to improve MPG. So yea its a good idea to dump a bottle in. I'm from the Dominican Republic but lived in the Bronx for a while so I guess you can say I've seen a few car jackings before my eyes as a little kid.

you really wont need to do much. i park my camaro every year and let it sit for about 5 months untouched. battery will probably be dead and the tire pressure will be low, but everything else should be fine. just check the fluid levels before you fire it up to make sure nothing leaked out and fire her up. i would probably be a good idea to change the oil after you get the car home.

Man, that sucks..
I would check all fluids before even crank her. Had to sit my brother's car (corolla) for over a year when on an assignment, we started it with a jumber. We noticed his oil and coolant was low because of slow leak. He had put stabil before leaving the car. Battery was dead (didnt hold charge after that). Other than that, nothing happened. Tires somehow didn't develop the flat spot.

Good luck man..
