Need Help: Tokico Struts Questions

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to upgrade the suspension on my 1994 Camry coupe to Tokico Blues.
I need confirmation from those of you who have the Tokico struts whether or not the bearings are located below the spring perch itself. I've searched the forums and I've found that the the gen 3's (from 92'-94') have the bearings directly below the spring perch (integrated onto the strut itself), and on the gen 3.5's (from 95'-96') the bearings are worked into the strut mounts.

I've changed my struts previously and I know I don't have the strut mount / plate setup because mines a 1994. Will I have to go source out a strut mount setup from a gen 3.5? or are the bearings located on the Tokico's themselves and I can just leave my mounts the way they are?

I've tried searching through the forums for info and pictures that could possibly answer my question but haven't come across anything yet... Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You'll have to buy the later gen's upper strut mounts with bearings. Here's a couple of Tokico threads with pics that'll help you see the difference.

This thread has pics of both.

Chris Crash's Tokico install DIY. He did exactly what you're doing.
