4th Generation Will xxr 522 17 x 8 rims fit my gen4 camry?

Hi, sorry I'm pretty new.

I was wondering if the flat black xxr 522 17 x 8 rims fit my 1997 camry le ?
http://discounttires.com/product_det...ntainOptions=1

Also would the xxr 522 rims fit Falken Ze 912 tires (215/50/R17)?
http://discounttires.com/product_det...ntainOptions=1

I currently have 215/55/R17 tires + wheels on
I'm planning to buy the Falken Ze 912 tires, then put the xxr 522 rims into the Falken tires.

thanks for all your help!

The offsets on those are cutting it close if you don't want to roll your fenders. Also, is your car lowered? THis also factors in if it will fit or not and if it requires you to have spacers to clear some space around your struts and wheel well. You will have to roll your fenders to make them fit without rubbing if you're on coils.

As for the tires, they will fit, but why not go for the wider 225/50 or 225/45 even? Again, factors in if you're lowered.

hey, thanks for the reply. I honestly got the idea from your thread on solaraguy, I idolize you.

I barely got into cars, so im sorry if I dont know much, but what exactly are coilovers / struts?
and what is the difference between 215/50 and 225/50?

my car is not lowered, would I have to lower it?
Since my car is not lowered, would I still have to roll my fenders to make it fit?

my current wheels.

thanks for all your help!

The difference between the 215/50 and the 225/50 is the tread covers wider areas on the ground, giving you better handling and grip. Hence the 225, which is the width of the tire. The 50, signifies how thick the tire wall is. Higher the number, the thicker the wall is, which adds more ride comfort on the road. Lower the number, the rougher the ride is. It's not necessary but if your car was lowered, it factors in how much clearance you got from the fenders and how much space you have from your shocks/struts. Coilovers only lowers your car further down, and adds stiffness, minimizing body roll and understeer depending on the car. That's why I was asking if you had coils because you will need to roll your fenders and get spacers if your car is lowered on coils.

Coilovers or shocks/struts, are the primary suspension of your car. If you don't know what they are, here's an idea.

These are the shocks and springs.

If you're not going to lower it, you don't need to roll the fenders. At most, you might need to get some 5mm spacers just to be safe to clear the clearance between your tires and your shocks. Why don't you try having it test fitted at your local wheel shop that sells these rims. I'm pretty sure they will give you some good advice on what you need to do to make them fit.

isn't his offset low enough so he wouldn't have to run the spacers??

i thought a 17x8 +35 would be pushed out far enough to not hit the shocks...

You have to consider the width of the rim. If it was 17x7.5 with +35 offset it would clear with no problems. Mines 18x7.5 +38 and it barely clears by 3mm from the shocks/struts. That's why I recommend him to test fit it first before buying them.

^ gotcha.

are the factory studs long enough to accommodate the 5-mm spacer?
or will you have to get extended studs?

17x8 +35 up front is fine. 17x8 +35 will need a 5mm spacer. 215/50 tires from falken will look like 215/45, they tend to cut their sidewalls a tad short. Happy modding and good luck!
