V6 Camry problems!

The other day I filled my Camry full of gas and went to work, when I came out the car smelled like gas horribly, and threw a code the code was for the egr. It doesnt smell that bad like gas anymore but the code is still there and do is the smell. The car doesn't have any idle problems and still runs strong. It has 138000 original miles on it and it's a v6 le, can the smell be that the egr is stuck and should I clean or just replace it

Is the gas smell under the hood or back by the fuel fill door/ rear wheel well? Any noticable drips?

No drop anywhere I searched high and low, it's does smell near the fuel door but only a little it smells more inside the car the. Out if that makes sense
