Unhappy 94 Camry Need Help from the PROS

Just bought a 94 Camry. It had a 3"crack in plastic radiator tank and leaked when it warmed up. The guy I bought it from is not at all mechanically inclined. I bought a new 2 row, brass tank with a copper core radiator and installed it today.

Before I did this the car would automatically drop below 1000 rpm after it warmed up and would start to spudder and die. After it dies you can start it up right away and as long as you keep the rpms up over 1000 rpm she seems to run OK.. I haven't taken it out on the road yet to really put a load on it but I've let it run fo 20 minutes and run it up and down my 1/2 mile driveway to get it up to tempature.

I did change the thermostat when I installed the radiator. There are no leaks now. There is no steam coming out of the exhaust and the engine is as smoothe as a tack if you keep the rpm up.

When it does start to stall and die, it seems like you can't save it by giving it gas and it ultimately dies. Strangely enough, you can start it back up immediately and it is smoothe as can be seconds later. Sorry for being wordy but I wanted to give you as much info as possible. Please, is there any Camry Aces out there that can help me. This car is for my son and we have already got real greasy today trying to get it in good reliable running condition.

Many Thanks in advance,

Rick
