I agree.

This is what happens when you reuse strut mounts:

Not too sure why the Monroe Quickstrut gets a bad rap here. I just put them on my 96 Camry at 175k. Ride is not mushy, soft or sloppy at all. They were just about what I expected, right in the middle performance-wise. Also noticed the ride height changed to positive as well. No, I don't have a horse in this show, just happy that they worked out well.

it's just another option to choose from. most of the reviews for this brand have been positive and I like that it gives a firmer ride. plus they're so cheap I don't mind taking a gamble. but with that said I'm still happy with the KYBs. the ride and dampening is still good after 60k miles. I can see them lasting another 10k-20k.

Anyway, if you are looking for good ride and not swaying like a boat like a 1973 Chevy Impala then, do yourself a favor and get Monroe's QUICK Struts and you will see the difference as the ones you have are completely worn out and the Tires will Love you for it! Also, these QUICK Struts reduce the time on the Job because you do not have to compress anything!! I did not see any QUICK Struts that came in the KYB brand

...

These are for my 1992 Toyota Camry XLE (2.2 Liter) Rear Struts done back in October 2012!

KYB doesn't make quick struts for the 3rd gen, only the 4th.

Part numbers for 4th gen KYB Strut Plus quick struts
SR4031 front right
SR4032 front left
SR4035 rear right
SR4036 rear left

Now the question is, do 4th-gen quick struts fit the 3rd?

It's because the clientele in forums like this are pre-disposed to "upgrading" to a stiffer suspension, and therefore their personal tastes tend to be anything but Monroes. That and Monroe did produce a bad batch of quick struts for a version of this car some years ago (although it may have been an improperly torqued upper strut bolt, easily remedied and something you should check on any new quick strut that you install). I tend to prefer Monroes since I drive on a lot of poorly paved roads.
