This question was already answered by guapoman2000. If you would have opened his link, you would see this part cost $63 at Advance Auto Parts. At a Toyota dealer, probably 2x that. Aren't that expensive? I guess the one needing to obtain it would have to make that judgment.

It depends upon if the engine is MAF or MAP. But because your question is general, the general response would be "Yes it can."

For MAP engines, you can either get too much air (major EVAP leak) or no fuel fumes (clogged or malfunctioning vacuum switching valves). In either case, it should not cause hesitations or stalling. Too much air will cause an increase in idle RPM though.

Hesitation or stalling (or both) on MAP engines could have many causes. An EGR valve stuck open would be one problem causing these symptoms. There are many others.

Check engine light on, or was on for a brief time?

That's funny !

You hijacked this thread. The originator, on the 1st post, was asking questions about a gas smell. You jumped in with a totally different topic. I should have suggested you start a new thread, but was trying to help you with your problem on this one.

Anyway, why don't you disconnect the vacuum line at the top of your EGR valve (and plug that hose) and take it for a drive and see if your hesitation and stalling problems subside. Let us know the results.
