3rd & 4th Generation (19921996 & 19972001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Btw, does anyone here see any parts I could salvage and sell? I know the body is a lost cause, but some of the interior is still good like the seats or the A/c controls. I already put my OEM Radio on craigslist. I had a brand new $350 touch screen in the car when I had the accident and Im still not sure if that is damaged or not. But I really do need some cash to put toward my next vehicle. Thanks.

Shy of that one reverse light, not much! It'd mostly be interior stuff and maaaaaybe a few things under the hood if they weren't damaged in the fire. Don't count on much being salvageable. I see some good door handles.....not much else though!

Yea I didn't think there would be much I could salvage, I might be able to get the spare tire/wheel out so I might be able to get something from that. It is difficult to access the interior to remove things though, because the only operating doors are on the driver's side and the interior is a sea of broken glass and airbags, so that makes it nearly impossible to get anything out of the car that isn't smaller than the window. I need to go to the yard this weekend before the insurance company calls it a total loss and takes it away to be scrapped. Does anyone think that from the pic I provided, that any of the engine components may be intact and sellable? thanks again for the replies.

Doorhandles, powerwindow-motor+regulator, powerwindow switches, rear left window, sidewindow gaskets, passengerseat, seatbelts, switches, center console,
The drivers seat might be damaged since it ended up in that position. And the rearseat back might have some bent mounts.

But seriously, looking at the condition of that car it's nothing short of a miracle that you didnt get really hurt .... or worse. I second the notion to buy a lottery ticket because thanfully you are healthy enough to enjoy the winnings.
