Gen 3.5 Brake Question

I'm looking to buy a 1995 or 1996 Camry with a V6. I want Rear Disc's. I know that the XLE V6 has rear disc's, but does the LE V6 have rear disc's or drum's. Spent over an hour on the web searching and counld not find anything! Thanks.

Thanks, that will make it a lot easier to find a car. There are almost no Low Mileage Gen 3.5 XLE V6's out there. Did find one a few weeks ago at a Toyota dealership. Called them up and they said they still had it. Told them I was coming to look at it and it was a 2 hour drive. Got there and they said they sold it before I got there! Needless to say, I was quite mad, and so was my dad that drove down there with me. Let the hunt for the new Camry continue!

XLE model came with rear disc brakes.

The ES300 has a setup that will work as well.

If you find a setup, I have read that you should ask that they leave the ebrake cables attached abd disconnect at the main cable.

I remember there being a similar discussion about this.... if the gen3/3.5 has ABS, it has rear discs (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Here's the thread: Gen 3 4cyl with rear disc brakes?

Thank you!!!!!!!!! That answers my question. Just need to get one with ABS, which I planed to do anyway because my insurance would be cheaper.

ASG14, every car I know with ABS has all discs.

I don't have ABS but have a 93 V6 and according to the factory guides, all V6s that year came with all discs standard.

Why would anyone want drums is my question?

Edit: oops forgot to say I have a LE

I hate drums, they look ugle when you put rims on. I know someone that has a 2003 Camry LE I4 and has 5-spoke 17's with rear drums. Just does not look right.

no one "wants" drums, they're just cheaper for the factory to use so therefore make the car cost less, and therefore are usually on lower trim models

one good thing about drums, they make 99% less dust which is cool with me

Yeah, my rear rims are practically never dirty. I really wish my Camry had ABS, but, oh well..... my next car will!
