92-96 Camry LE HVAC mode (question)

I am considering a 1994 Camry LE 4dr 4cyl, (1-owner) with 114K miles
for $2900. The owner said that sometimes the HVAC mode (where you
want the air to come out) will not always change. If I recall, my
old 93 Camry had a problem with this when the actual dial cracked.
I had to get a new one from Toyota. The seller is elderly and not
sure what the problem is, so before look at the car tomorrow- do you
think that this is probably the problem? Are there any known
internal problems (with the cables etc), with these cars that could
possibly be the problem? Thanks in advance. Tony

I went and looked at the car this afternoon and it was not in that
well of shape in my opinion. First, the knob was not broken on the
HVAC, but it was working fine. He said it only occasionally gave a
problem. The car had numerous dents, cracked taillamp lens,
mismatched paint from an accident he had in the car in 1994, a week
after he bought it new, it also had burns on the driver seat and
oddly, it had hundreds of small cracks in the dash pad top nad it
was badly faded. I had never seen a dash crack like that before. I
expected a much better car with 114K. Engine may have been good,
but the appearance was displeasing. Thanks for all of the replies.

From the description hes given, you can obviously tell that the owner didn't take good care of the car. I wouldn't buy it.

And I know everything. I know why the lambs are silent at night.
