93 Camry Door Lock Solenoid ?!

Its crazy, my passenger door doesn't lock with the power locks anymore, when I arm the car with my Compustar it locks all three doors except the front passengers. Brought it in to the dealer for a quote, they quoted me $611.30 + tax to replace the 'door lock solenoid'. Part# 69030-33020. Part itself is $433.30 + tax. Now has anyone else had such a problem and the price is incredibly outrageous. Any suggestions on replacement or price ? Why is it that this vintage of Camry has the oddest problems. My 85 Celica has no such issues, are the newer car parts really that cheap ?

Sleekaman.

check the wires between the car and the door. Its typical on gen3's for those wires to become brittle and frayed and/or severed.

On my 95 they frayed and began to short out causing my locks to flip eratically on their own

On my 2002 SE V6, only the read passenger side will lock...and that is only if all the locks are manually set. I've had this problem off and on and now it is constant. Toyota quoted $350 just to TROUBLESHOOT the problem.

This Camry has made me lose faith in Toyota...it will definately be my last!
