Sorry to say this, but is it really worth all the trouble just to get this piece? I personally don't think it looks all that great...not to mention the fact that it looks the same as stock. If you want to keep people guessing about what your car really is, painting over the panel is much more effective, and a lot cleaner looking at that. And think about this - the best looking Camry's out there don't do this swap for a reason. Then again, modding a car is all about doing what you like, so I won't say anything further.

You're telling me that painting the center piece looks cleaner than the red center piece? Maybe on 95-96 Gen3s that don't have the full red "wrap-around" taillights, but on 92-94 Gen3s nothing looks cleaner than the full red tails wrapping around the back, sorry. Plus, if you didnt notice, 92-94 camrys have inner brake lights in there and I wouldnt ruin the looks of my taillights at night by painting the center piece.

Says who?! Trust me, if these pieces were readily available like many Honda JDM pieces, more people would have them.

Im not so interested in this rear peice because i have a SE without that to begin with. But if this guys has a place in japan, does that mean he can get other special parts like body kits and the like?
SY: one thing that we do for mods.. make our cars as unique from the next car as possible in our case try to keep it looking more japanese than anything... due to the different names i would like to have a scepter because even in japan a 4 door scepter/ 2 door scepter is rare... i just talked to a dealer there and that's wat he told me...
soundlizard: wat kits u lookin for? i mean in japan pretty much nothing in terms of kits for the gen 3 i know the gen 4 has lots though....
Ummm...more like OEM = boring . Depends on your style I guess...uniqueness is good after all, like Humpty mentioned.

Again, personal preference. Ever since I painted it, I've gotten endless compliments.
Given that the Scepter trunk panel is the same as ours (with the exception of the letters), have you gotten any compliments on your stock trunk panel? And yes, I remember the inner brake lights...but it's nothing compared to the menacing look of a painted trunk panel combined with red/clear taillights at night (esp on a black car)

Says all the trophy winning Camry's that have graced online galleries and import shows alike. As far as demand for this part goes, just look at how many people are interested...'nuff said.
Anyway, I'm not trying to argue with anyone...just wanted to bring up some healthy debate.

No, because nearly every family in north america owns a Camry and its a well known car, with a non-existent reputation for being a sports car. I believe my Camry is a sports car and is like no other Camry on the road and so re-badging it under the Scepter name seems appropriate to me at least. I love seeing re-badged 240SX's as Silvias and GS300/400's as Aristos for example, I just think it gives the car a unique-look and draws attention to people who pay attention to detail.

Thats fine, I just believe that a "subtle" look is more powerful IMHO than an "in-your-face" sorta look. It's all good...
