Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Okay, my ABS light comes on after I start down the road and stays on. When I start up my vehicle it does the usuall bulb check on and then off. I have been following these instructions to get the ABS codes "On the 1993 and newer Camrys, you’ll have to find the DLC1 and DLC2 data link connectors. DLC1 is located on the right side of the engine compartment near the firewall, and the DLC2 connector is inside the vehicle under the dash on the driver’s side. With the ignition on, remove the short pin jumper from DLC1. Then connect a jumper wire between terminals Tc and E1 on DLC1 or DLC2. This should cause the ABS warning light to start flashing out any codes. If there are no codes, the light will flash continuously twice a second.". When I do the jumping the only thing that flashes is the airbag and cruise lights. I cannot get the ABS light to flash anything. I have double checked my wire jumping and used the DLC1 and DLC2 and both yield the same results. Here is the full article incase you can spot somthing I dont Breaking Down ABS Service . Can anyone help me get these darn ABS codes. I want to do this myself.
Thanks.

Hi,
I know
...Turn ignition on. Remove short pin "WA-WB" from DLC No.1. (photo - http://www.alflash.narod.ru/OBDII/Connectors1.jpg ).
Connect jumper wire between DLC terminals Tc and E1. If a code is stored, 4 seconds will elapse and ABS light will begin to flash a 2-digit code...
HTH,

Okay got a code by doing all the correct connections then actually driving the vehicle to speeds up to 34 miles and then brought it back in and turned of the vehicle then turned the key to on position with all the connections in place and got a blink blink blink pause blink and this patter repeated. So I'm taking this as a code 31 which translates into "Problem in right front wheel speed sensor circuit". Now there is some additional diagnostics I can run to see exactly what the problem is with the sensor itself. Its called special WSS test mode.

Typically, the "brake" light goes off when you need brake fluid. I could be wrong but that's what came on when I needed fluid. My front left brake line had a hole in it, thats why I was losing fluid and the reason for the brake light coming on constantly. The ABS light comes on when the ECU detects an error with the ABS system.
