this should work right? I have a 18x7.5 wheel now with a 225/40/18 tire, and going to move to a 20x8.5 rim with a 225/30/20 tire. I ran the circumfrence diference and came up with the following:
Rim Diameter: 18 in 457.2 mm
RimDiameter: 20 in 508 mm
Rim Width Range: 7.5 - 9 in
Rim Width Range: 8 - 9 in
Overall Diameter: 25.08 in 637.03 mm
Overall Diameter: 25.31 in 642.87 mm
Radius: 12.54 in 318.51 mm
Radius: 12.65 in 321.31 mm
Circumference: 78.79 in 2001.2 mm
Circumference: 79.51 in 2019.5 mm
by these states, it says the overall diameter in only .23 inches, which is so small a difference i dont think it would be a problem fitting. Am I reading this right? Just want to make sure they will get in there ok.
Note: I am not concerned at all with ride quailty or that putting 20's on a Camry is dumb, just asking by these numbers they should fit on no problem with this new size tire i can get.
i think 20x8.5 mite give you slite rubbing. I think it be safer to go with 20x8 or 19x8.5. Hey... why don't you use extensions? Thats what this guy used to get 20x10s on his celica.

*Hipari is Japanese for "stretched." Its a style which aggressively pulls smaller diameter tires on wider sized rims. The hipari trend maintains fender clearance with larger rims. Plus its JDM, yo!
he was talking about my car, but he would probly suggest the same for you
I think you would be be fine with by 8.5....not sure how you would fit 225 on a 8.5 though...but i mean you are the man with the plan! i would go with it and see what you would need to do to make it fit

the tire i am getting, they were mounted on a 20x8.5 rim on display and worked fine. fitment issues i should be fine.
i just want 20's on our car, no real reason, just another thing im trying to do over the top.
also that celica has the apr widebody kit, makes it a bit easier to fit a wide rim when your fenders stick out an extra three inches.
