98 camry 5FSE to 3SGTE

hi all
I've got a 98 camry csi about to hit the 400,000 km mark
and i've desided to change the 5FSE to a 3SGTE. Now i've been considering this for about a month and been lookin at other examples and reading tech articals about doin the sawp.

so i've got the 3SGTE and the V6 camry gearbox (which everyone says is rare i don't kno about that in aus) and sure enough they bolt up to each other, and acordingly to what everyone has to say that if u got a 5FSE the 3SGTE will just bolt in place and cos of the car being a camry the gearbox should just bolt in too.

now i was thinkin the other day if i got hold of the GT-4 celica drive train (gearbox, diff, tailshaft ect...) would it be possible to make the camry all wheel drive? or would it be a complete failure?

i would like kno if any one as done this before?

thanks S13-R32

youd still have to fabricate the rear ends mounts for the wheels and a shaft etc, new shafts at the front. if you got the equipment at home you can do it with some knowhow(ok a lot). if not, get ready to spend about 7 grand for someone to put it in for ya (if you supply parts)

I don't know where you heard that from, but its wrong.

You need custom mounts, otherwise the engine will lean to one side.
