Loose ground wire search 1989

Hi, My wipers, pwr windows, blower fan etc. are going nuts!
Fuses keep blowing and the tail lights are out too. I think I have a loose ground wire somewhere but don't know where to begin to look. Has anybody out there had to check their grounds? I sure could use some help.
Thanks, Tiffany

Well seeing as a girl posted this and we they are pretty rare here on TN, I am giving this a free bump. Unfortunately I can't help you with your problem though.

Fuses that blow are due to too much current being drawn (which fuses blow?)

I have read that there are some issues with the bundle of wires that moves when the trunk is open and closed, May want to check those.

Probably need more information.

I would start by checking right from the battery - first clean the contacts on the battery, and make sure it's firmly connected, then clean the wire that connects it to the frame of the car, and secure that firmly as well.

CraigW, the fuses are pwr windows, wipers, seat belt, blower fan.
My brake lights are out too. Could residue on the battery terminal be the culprit?
I'm gonna check first thing in the morning anyway.

Thanks for your help, Tiffany

Do the bulbs (that still work) seem super bright ?? How long do the fuses last.

The brake lights don't work at all! The bulbs are good I can see the filaments and the fuse is good, never blown.
There was a little crud on the negative batt terminal which I cleaned with a wire brush and both grounds are intact.
I inspected the wire bundles in the trunk as much as I could and they look pristine.
I'm not sure where else to check. ANY ideas?! I'm going crazy!
Thank you for your help!

For the brake lamps, Only thing left if you checked those items would be the brake switch itself. Located on the drivers side, operated by the brake pedal.

Do you have a voltmeter or test lamp ?? Do you know any good Electrical Engineers ?
