I just bought an SRI on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...942609168&rd=1
and a friend of mines bought a similiar one from makato and he said that his didnt have a vacuum line?? on his (he has a 95 camry and i have a 96 camry, both I4s)
So does it make a difference if i have one and he doesnt??
most of them have vaccuum lines which need to be plugged. guess you'll have to wait until you receive yours to know for sure.
also, incase you didn't notice, today is in fact christmas, so not many people have the free time to post on the forums, so if someone doesn't respond by the time your computer's done refreshing, it's not a reason to bump the thread. also, there's a huge picture in your link that shows a vaccuum line coming out of the intake.
Yeah, definately don't bump it after 3 minutes, whether it's Christmas or not...
Crawlingeye: I believe he knows he has a vaccum line, that's why he's asking if it matters that his has one when his friend's did not.
If your intake right now does not have a vaccuum, then just plug up the hole like crawlingeye said. If it does have a vacuum line attached to it, then just attach your old vacuum line to the new hole... Shouldn't be a hard problem to solve.

Its not how fast your car goes...its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.
His wouldn't have the vacuum line b/c his '95 is not set up for OBD-II like your '96 is. Or at least, that's what I would assume... But it's a logical conclusion to draw... and if that vac line is anything OBD-II related I'd definitely hook that thing up!

Wow. Well I installed it today and i double checked if everything was correct and all but i realize that there was a significant gap between my air filter and the hole where its "supposedly" suckin up air from. And to that, I followed the hole and found that it just came out right behind my right (from the front view) headlight, is this right?
It sounds better... but its not as good as i hoped it would be, especially when i rev it up a bit and it doesnt make as much of a low sound.
Any comments on the gap and the sound?
the thick tube should be connected to something from the old intake tube. IF there are vacuum lines that are open, just start the car and feel for vacuum. if there is vacuum on a line, then plug it. if not, just leave it open.

Well for $21.50 that's what you get.
I was thinking about what's SRI for a second, I think HAI (hot air intake) is the more politically correct term.
BTW how much do you pay us to get a 3 minute response between your first and second post on a christmas holiday?
